Join a remote underwriting team supporting reverse mortgage loan reviews from submission through decision. In this role, the Reverse Mortgage Underwriter will evaluate borrower documentation, collateral, credit, income, assets, and supporting file details to determine eligibility under FHA, HECM, and Reverse Proprietary Product guidelines. The ideal candidate has deep reverse mortgage underwriting experience, strong compliance judgment, and the ability to issue clear, accurate decisions within expected turn times and holds an active and current Federal Housing Administration Direct Endorsement.
ü Active FHA DE (Direct Endorsement) Underwriter approval.
ü Minimum of 3 years of Reverse Mortgage Underwriting experience.
ü Hands-on experience underwriting HECM Purchase transactions.
ü Strong knowledge of FHA, HECM, and Reverse Proprietary lending guidelines.
ü Ability to review credit, income, asset, collateral, third-party, fraud, judgment, and lien documentation.
ü Demonstrated ability to make accurate, compliant underwriting decisions within 24-48 hour turn times.
ü Exceptional attention to detail, analytical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
ü Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain decisions and conditions.
ü Ability to collaborate effectively with loan officers, processors, and mortgage operations teams.

· Perform comprehensive loan file reviews to ensure compliance with company, investor, FHA, HECM, and Reverse Proprietary guidelines.
· Analyze credit, income, asset, collateral, and supporting documentation to determine loan eligibility.
· Evaluate files for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
· Identify potential red flags and proactively address underwriting concerns.
· Review third-party reports, fraud reports, judgment searches, lien searches, and related documentation.
· Communicate underwriting decisions, conditions, and required documentation clearly and professionally.
· Partner with loan officers, processors, and mortgage operations teams to resolve file issues and support timely approvals.
· Maintain productivity standards and meet required underwriting turn times.
